We are certainly living in some unpredictable times. Business is still going on – just in a different way. Organizations must pivot quickly to stay competitive in this virtual environment.
SpawGlass is a very successful construction company with offices throughout the state of Texas. The Austin office had to present their proposal for a multi-million dollar contract they were bidding for within a Zoom meeting with their potential new clients. All of the competitors had to go through the same process of presenting via Zoom. SpawGlass wanted to find a way to stand out.
When you are used to pitching, proposing and closing multi-million dollar contracts in person with a handshake, it is difficult to pivot to a virtual world in a way that is personal and allows your team to stand out from the competition. The SpawGlass team reached out to the professionals at Zodiac Studios and asked if we could help.
We wanted to create a full on broadcast within Zoom and help them make an incredible impression and win the job. Most folks have not had much experience of working in front of a camera and the SpawGlass team was no different. Most of the time people freeze up when the cameras are on. We understand the importance of being relaxed to come across as genuine on screen. So we brought SpawGlass in early to get comfortable with being on a set with lighting and cameras. We did several rehearsals until they felt ready.
SpawGlass had 5 presenters that would each take turns presenting different parts of their proposal via PowerPoint. So we set them up in our studio (Covid safe and socially distanced). We had multiple cameras and each presenter had a lavalier microphone and an in-ear monitor so they could all speak and hear each other and their potential new clients via Zoom. We had confidence monitors set up for them – one so they could see their PowerPoint presentation and the other for the Zoom meeting so they could see who they were presenting to. We dressed up the set with some pop-up banners with their branding to add in some flair. We also added in lower third graphics for each presenter to make them look like professional broadcasters. In the end, they really knocked it out of the park. We received incredible feedback from their whole team and their gratitude for all of our help.
A week later we got a call from the SpawGlass team to let us know that they had won the job. It was an incredible feeling – we really felt a part of their team and were personally invested in seeing their success. It was incredibly rewarding to hear WE had won the job!! They are already making plans to use us again for their next upcoming virtual proposal and now their Houston office wants to do the same thing! Success breeds success!
